Re: 9th Age v .99 feedback
Yeah, I honestly don't get the cost of some of the dwarf infantry or even skaven infantry, look at vermin guard (15 guys at 85) and greybeards (10 guys is 85). Vermin guard can still get a 50 point banner. In the end, I doubt you'll find much sympathy, so many people are utterly convinced our book i...

Re: 9th Age v .99 feedback
Yeah ld 8 isn't so hot. The dwarf book looks pretty interesting, their crowd-surfing midget king in a unit with +1 move banner is pretty good, it can march 12 and is 4+3d6 on the charge combining with their choppa rule. I suppose they can't spam their war machines but they are still the very reliabl...

Re: 9th Age v .99 feedback
Well, I'm not sure we are finished with the nerf bat yet but I think the army will probably be ok. I think it really depends on your local scene on what is most effective and how willing you are to try different things to be successful. There was some early feedback posted here: m Ok only 16 guys bu...

Re: NEW YEAR PAINTING CHALLENGE
More impressive stuff! Great work. I love the fleetmaster model, he seems so over the top in details but somehow manages to bring it together. I have the same problem with some models, I can't paint them if they are fully assembled, I just can't do it, too hard to get at certain places. If next mont...

Re: WarhammerTube Topic of the Week - Repainting old minis
I think it is up to you how you do it, either way works for me. As to his video, firstly if that steam tank is 'garbage' then I have an army of garbage But yes, I intend to repaint all my poor paint attempts (doing corsairs right now). I don't want crap looking minis, if I can do better, I will redo...

Re: Dark Elf Corsair Ship
It really looks amazing, great job. I hate to be one of those guys but the pennants at the top of the front mast, they kinda look out of sync pointing in the direction they do, not sure if it is a camera angle thing or not. EDIT: Hmm, ok I guess thinking about how the sails are working, they are poi...

Re: Theory - Computing unit decay and return damage
That was pretty cool. I think that could give a pretty good insight into how good certain units really are. Not sure excel can really do something along those lines but you can use a computer algebra system to do the polynomial manipulations, (maxima is free but a bit clunky: m) Or you may be able t...

Re: Painting in the New Year!
I would be up for something, although with my work I can be a bit unreliable. I'd probably pass on terrain making but some kind of mini painting I could at least throw my ring in the hat.

Re: 9th Age 2400 list
It looks pretty doable to me. Since you asked for feedback, here are a couple of biased suggestions. First up is the L2 with CoT=cloak of twilight? if so would be 50 points, so couldn't have dispel scroll on here as well. Find room for Wand of stability. It gives you a very powerful dispelling advan...

Re: 9th New Special Rules
... Also if you have I assume at least 2 combat characters in the corsairs (fleetmaster + bsb) you are losing the attacks of the corsairs... Am I missing a rule? Sorry this is all new. Does having these guys prevent me from corsair attacks? No. But the characters go in the front rank, so you lose 4...

Re: 9th New Special Rules
There is a lot of scouting out there now. I'm not sure you can be sure of a vanguard anymore. Also if you have I assume at least 2 combat characters in the corsairs (fleetmaster + bsb) you are losing the attacks of the corsairs, wouldn't spearmen be better since they come with AP 1 now (have lethal ...

Re: Topic of the Week - A new woman / female character?
If anyone's read Joe Abercrombie's Best Served Cold , Monza Murcatto would make the basis of a good Dark Elf character, IMO. A skilled swordswoman and mercenary general who is betrayed by her employer (who is afraid of her popularity), sees her brother (who is also her lover) murdered, and gets thr...

Re: Topic of the Week - A new woman / female character?
Maybe a strong willed Shade woman with questionable loyalty to the Witch King? She could be a renegade (even more than most shades) with she and her band being hunted by the "rightful" rulers of Naggaroth (or wherever we are now), but they can never seem to catch her. She'd be mostly for ...

Re: Topic of the Week - Pick your favourite Realm !
If those are your work they look pretty damn good to me. I think the last one you have is most dark elfish. The first and second give me more of a wood elf feel. As for feel, if we go with D&D influences, I loved the dark sun setting. This part from lotr is what I imagined for desert styled blac...
