Re: Plog The Disgraced House of Naggarond - The Midnight Bla
Fantastic and inspiring work! Always nice to get the paint schemes :-) I esp. love your work on the medusa, and the freehand and shadings on banners and cloaks! And the knight conversions. And the rest. Do you shade first, and paint freehand after, or shade over the freehand? Or in several steps?

Re: [PLOG]: Dark Elves rediscovered by Trilobite
Caught speeding :-( Before the tournament last weekend I had another deadline, that effectively stopped me from painting at all over several weeks. That deadline done, I had to produce a lot of paintwork in a rush of panic. In one week, after putting the kids to rest and until it was way too late (2...

I really like your executioners! I think I will try to do the same when I do a unit for my own army! The death hag is a lovely model as well. I succeed with pupils about half of the time, but the cross-eyes ones go in the back ;-)

It was fun to repaint the old ones - the post became a little pic-heavy because of it!

Re: [PLOG]: Dark Elves rediscovered by Trilobite
Time for another update. I played my first tournament since 1988 this weekend and had to finish a lot in order to have an army to play. This unit of Cold Ones was started this summer however, but I reinforced it wit five new models for the tournament. As I said before, my army is based on the box &q...

I want a car like this! Truly, it's one of the greatest pieces I've seen in a long time! Very seamless work, which fits together in a great theme!

OLD?! I feel the same as when I was fifteen, minus the insecurity, sweaty feet and raging hormones.
Thanks for the cheer, I know I am not a top modeller and painter like KultofKhaine and others, but I still nurse good feedback as if it was a cold beer in mid-summer!

Re: [PLOG]: Dark Elves rediscovered by Trilobite
Last year family life made for very little painting, and my unit of shades took better part of a year to finish. I wanted to give them white cloaks as snow camouflage, although I was worried if the unit would look too much apart from the earlier units. It was really hard to remember the process over...

Love your writing! I really like some of the old models a lot, exp. the old chariot, although the Cold Ones are really loking more sad than menacing.

Re: [PLOG]: Dark Elves rediscovered by Trilobite
Quick update because my son demanded I made it as soon as possible. We are an artistic family over here, and my 4.5-year old son has inherited some figs I don't intend to use (various 90:s orcs, mainly). I also found my original paint set from when I painted my old Chaos Marines, and now he is wield...

Lovely with the detailed description of your bashing!
Where did you find the head, it is very neat, exp. with the bun at the back, more warriorlike than the Hanoi Rocks-look favored by GW at the moment.

I started a plog today, rediscovering the hobby, dark elves and stuff. Painting an army after 22 years of abscence from the hobby:

Re: Dark Elves rediscovered by Trilobite
First heroes (and only heroes finished, so far) I got a bunch of heroes, but I have just painted three so far because a few old magic users came with the prepainted army. I will repaint them eventually. Dreadlord: http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c191/Morrigansphynx/dreadlord_zps6fa5e33b.jpg Tried ...

A unit of 28 Corsairs: This was a more serious attempt after testing my wings on the Dreadspears and Darkshards. I painted two heroes to put in the unit (although I painted two extra corsairs who could fill in if the characters would be left out when playing) http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c191/M...

Re: Dark Elves rediscovered by Trilobite
My first attempt at painting in 22 years. A small unit of Dreadspears. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c191/Morrigansphynx/dreadspears_zpse24c7ea7.jpg I tried to make the unit bristling with spears, but I put the spears more upright when I expanded the unit with some older miniatures because I tho...

[PLOG]: Dark Elves rediscovered by Trilobite
Introduction: A friend of mine wanted me to post pictures of my Dark Elf force, so I suppose you could say it is by popular demand I write this post. I must confess that it is with a very real sense of dread I prepare to show my work (and my sometimes incorrect English), because it is hardly Golden ...
