I would also be cautious about switching to executioners; the always striking last could prove to be a unwise choice versus ogres. One of their bigger problems is their low initiative, allowing the likes of elves (and most other enemies too to be frank) to cut down on the number of attackings coming...

Connection to someone powerful is the key I would say. As such I would go for being adopted or supported by a more powerful house.
Perhaps being granted a writ of iron as described in the army book and working from there would be a neat idea.

I think C and D are both really nice, can't really pick a favourite. E is also good, but not really as good. I'm using something similar to A myself, with red and gold, though not exactly the way you have exemplified, which I like.

C or D, in my opinion.

Ugliest model. Tough one, chaos ogres could be it, definately. I think the chaos trolls are awful too though, and the current 'normal' trolls likewise. I can't say I like Konrad von Carstein either, though not ugliest by far, I think he's more ugly than good looking. Can't see why people are bashing...

Manbane would mean that you lost the poison too though, wouldn't it? As far as I can see, the only problem would be that some of the hits wouldn't be able to score a KB. I'd still prefer poison+kb myself.

I think that the model could benefit from having the scarf and the robething being painted with more contrasting colours, right now they look very similar, though it looks like the scarf and skirt is light blue and the robe white. I would have used less mithril silver on the edges of the armour as w...

Well congratulations then frozen_dark_elf, both on winning and getting married :)

52 pages sure does sound promising. I wonder how many of those are actually worth reading? I reckon about three or four, seeing the general level of the white dwarf these days..

I'd go for the Temple of Khaine, or rather Khaine than the temple. I suppose you shouldn't go against your King either, so that's my second choice. Deep down Ranieth Bloodheart is a fanatic, though quite cunning and clever. The Temple at first, but if it goes horribly wrong I suppose I could see my ...

Now get them proper bases! The models deserve them :)

I prefer to agree with Drainal, though no one know anything nowadays that could stop chaos from overrunning everything eventually, who's to say that someone won't come up with something new in quite a long while :p?

I'm not so sure about the captain of the Black Guard, at least not Kouran. Am I all wrong, or didn't Kouran get his head chopped off in a fight versus Tyrion in the 6th edition high elf book?

If you are able to fly and stop yourself one inch away from the mage, why dont you just charge him? killing him a lot quicker. The ring of Hotek seems utterly pointless to me. the Range on it is rediculous. My advice would be to not take it. Because you can fly to places you do not have line of sig...

Ranieth is something I made up back when I joined druchii.net I am quite sure. Familyname Bloodheart, I read a story about a dark elven guy in a WD around albion-times called Blackheart I think, and decided to go with Bloodheart, reasoning that it was quite similar and as such quite druchii, but eve...

Oblivion is very dangerous as it is now, perhaps a bit too dangerous? On the other hand, he is supposed to be one of the absolute best I wouldn't like Oblivion being split into two hand weapons, I prefer the idea of a lithe, elven bastard sword over two hand weapons. The 2HW seems more ferocious and...

There's some pretty much confirmed releaseschedule at warseer which says that VC will be released now soon, and after that chaos daemons for both 40k and fantasy, and then after that dark elves would probably arrive.

I used wood elf horses, legs and cloaks (with arrows/spear shaved away) and rest dark elf stuff. Torsos, heads, spears for some and crossbows for some. Looks neat!

Wood Elves: A great army, I am seriously considering collecting these. Would be light on the trees though, I prefer the elves. Great models and quite nice fluff, the defending role could be worked around I guess Defending? Asrai are attacking! If you're looking for a defensive force, look at the wh...

I'd say a nick or cut would be a hit which failed to wound myself.

That aside, I think the char could benefit a lot from the minus to hit in combat, and it'd be quite fluffy in my opinion.

A good buy for taking down warmachines would probably be a noble on dark pegasus, but with deathmask (causes terror), since the crewmen are all stubborn (or only those with that engineer unit champion?) and thus won't break if you charge in and kill a few, but stick around. With terror however, and ...

The last model looks stunning, great pose and weapon, but there's one thing. The head. It doesn't look very elvish to me. I don't know how hard changing the head would be, but unless it's too much of a hastle, I would have done it if it was my model.

I wouldn't say they necessarily stole the helmets from human worshippers, more like the other way around as you said, Jme. I actually think they look very elvish those helmets, a lot more elvish than human-like.

The manticore could be risky, even though there's no shooting in a Khorne list. You'd pretty much have to be sure that you kill everyone who's able to strike back when charging khornate units, the beastmaster is really squishy, and while tougher, the manticore can't take that much punishment either.
