Skin Advice

Hi all, Ive been working on painting Malus Darkblade, drawing inspiration from the artwork of the Darkblade series volume one. How would you paint the darker recesses in his skin? Ive experimented with mixtures of cadian flesh/the fang to create a dark base to build up to pallid wych flesh and white...

Kulrik woke fitfully with a groan, bleary eyed his hand probed for his cudgel on the bench next to him. The banging continued, reverberating inside his skull. He looked down at the empty bottle of Maelith's spite in his hand and flung it into the far corner in disgust. Harpies drag you to the deepes...

Rain and wind lashed at the crumbling face of the tavern. It's narrow windows and doors were bolted from within and boards from it's floors and tables had been nailed across the apetures by its previous tennents. The interior of The Rat and Adder was musty and damp, a strong smell of cheap spirits a...

Help with colour scheme

Heya guys, I need some advice. Ive recently gotten back into the hobby after a few years and am in the process of painting a new army. I'm currently painting dark riders and a master on dark steed. Thanks for the replies guys Some nice recommendations! The Wire, Sopranos and Game of thrones are on my 'to-get' list. Blackadder is known word for word ....i'm sad.. I'm afraid How I met your mother and the majority of American comedy shows really grate on my nerves. I'd highly recommend 'House of ...

TV series recommendations

Hi all, I like to watch marathon sessions of Dvd's when I paint. My collection, varied as it is, is getting a little stale. Does anyone have any series they would recommend? My sense of humour tends to stray towards the deadpan/black humoured side of things lol. A few favourites of mine which I woul...

WIP Cauldron of Blood

Hi all, I'd ordered the Forge World Avatar of Khaine quite a few months ago and have only recently had the courage to attempt to paint it! At the moment the Jade effect I was going for is a little too bright to sit comfortably next to the rest of my army, so a few more washes should help to tone it ...

Does anyone know if this particular quality of resin easy or even possible to strip? The reason I ask is that, if in the future, all gamesworkshop products are cast in this way, new gamers will have no possible way to increase their skill in painting/converting/etc if everything will have to be boug...

Lower prices?! That dangerous thinking lol.
Branding the products as 'finecast' smacks of unneeded hype, as if they are something entirely seperate from the standard box sets. Labelling them as the high quality, top end of the market while offering no bottom.

Wargaming clubs in Kent

Hi guys and girls I am on the look out for any wargamers or better yet a WHFB gaming club in my local area, namely Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, etc. I am desperate to get back into the gaming aspect of the hobby and have noone to play against. I'm not sure what to make of this transition, it would be nice to believe that our chariots, dark riders and witch elves will get a completely new look with resin boxed sets, or maybe just be re-cast. There is alot of speculation on the web, but the only thing that you can bank on will be these new ...

Supreme Sorceress on Manticore

Hi guys I wanted peoples opinions of the pros and cons of mounting a sorceress this way.

The build I had in mind was:

Lv 4, Pendant of Khaeleth, Focus Familiar, Life Taker.

At 515pts shes pretty pricey, but what other ways would you suggest to kit out our lovely ladies?

Sorry for the delay. Constraints of work have slowed up my progress!

Anyway. Added more to the mane and other details such as the spine, saddle strap and trophies.
I feel I should of made clear at the start the Manti is intended to be wingless.
