City guard were cool and unique, but we have so much other stuff to be competetive that I really don't see a need for them.

You already have a hydra and taking a second is abit overkill, but you don't have any cold one knights, which are truly awesome now due to hatred, so make sure you have a unit of those.

Shades or Reaper Bolt throwers... up to you, personally I'm more fond of shades.

In a 500pts list it would proably be had to squeeze in any at all. So keep them at their minimum unit size, prehaps without a command group.

In lager games I'd field them in units of 6 as well as prehaps stick a master in there depending on your character setup.
