Re: GW Dublin Fantasy doubles tournament 13/02/10 winners report

Going to commit threadomancy to say I was looking back over old reports and found this; nice to see the winners' experiences... I was on the team that came in second, with an Orcs & Goblins player; he packed an all-Night Goblin army. I hated that they stopped events like this; the shop really we...

Re: What is this place? — Introduction

Hey up, @Calisson and @Tarbo; do you know anyone who would be interested in a bit of play-by-post D&D 5th Edition...? Or we could play on my Roll20 account, and have a discussion thread here...?

Of course, please do! Don't expect any reply by Tarbo, haven't seen him in years. Well @Calisson , if you have time, I might be interested in starting a new group under the old D.net rules? I don't really think I know them well enough to GM/DM a group yet... BTW, I checked @Tarbo 's profile; his la...

Couple questions; is this for WHFB, or T9A? And what's a Thicket Shepherd; a Treeman or Treekin BSB?

Re: Bases question

I just wish people weren't so fussy about square bases VS round..... Now there I do agree with you. I've no intention of ever rebasing any of my old DE or Chaos models onto rounds. If someone refuses to play against me, then that's their problem. My Wanderers (WE) are on rounds because I only start...

Re: A humble suggestion

Our server is a paid hosting service. It's competitive with the market, now, particularly considering the amount of disk space we're consuming. We have virtually unlimited disk space and bandwidth. It's a virtual private server so our computing power is more than we need at the moment. In theory we...

Re: Project: the future pan-elven website

It should serve 9th Age, AoS and WFB. Thanks; I was wondering about that. I assume there will be a thing for 'Other Armies Discussion', similar to what there is now...? T.B.H, the open-ness to non-Elven discussion is what drew me to D.net in the first place; that and the site being in White Dwarf 2...

As long as we get kept update, I'm fine with following this thread.

How exactly is the new site gonna work; will it be mainly for AoS, or will it serve WHFB as well, even though G.W have technically killed it off....?

I hope whatever fool decided to kill of WHFB got fired.... Yeah, I was wondering how the Brexit will influence the export of GW products (among others). For now, the low pound is boosting sales, but once the Brexit is in effect I wouldn't be surprised to see a steep price increase. I'm honestly not ...

Re: Bases question

it was pretty dumb of them to make that kind of declaration when they can't control outside events..... I can't really agree with you there, either. If you ask a GW staffer, "Do I need to rebase my minis to play AoS?", I think it is perfectly reasonable for him to interpret that as, "...

So much for the guy in GW Dublin who told me "Oh no, you don't need to rebase your old armies!"; WHAT DAMN LIARS!! How is that a lie, though? If certain tournaments are requiring round bases, that's entirely a decision made by those tournament organisers. It's nothing to do with GW and ce...

Only reason to switch is if you plan to go play in tournaments. This is the only 'must' Other valid factors: if you have absolutely no interest in 9th age or playing previous versions of warhammer. If you font ever plan on owning 40k stuff, because honestly most of 40k infantry, bike, walker things...

Re: HUGE Warhammer Fantasy Army Book Update

Of the armies listed, I am pretty sure that Cult of Ulric and Kislev should be relatively balanced. From what I recall after recently glancing through some old White Dwarf issues, both of these were used in the Storm of Chaos Campaign 10 years ago as GW-endorsed armies. If I recall correctly, both ...
