Well, for one, I'd never drop a succubus with an agonizer from a unit of wyches - just no way. The figs along has quite often doubled the amount of damage that unit does against anything with armour, and it ensures that really annoying, heavily armoured and tough stuff respects the unit (and normall...

I've always wanted to do the 8 chariot army. Couldn't justify the cost. I guess I might not ever get to do so, now. Though I own 6 ( couldn't justify the cost either, but apparently that still didn't stop me - silly decisions when I look back on it), I have some nice friends who lent me a couple ot...

That's a lot of upgrades for what you get out of those units. I have a similar list, at 1500 pts, just without a few of the support units. Slave snares, night shield, and the scaling nets aren't particularly useful. terrorfexs, one the other hand, are a useful addition. A retinue of warriors is also...

A. Is slower until the charge B. Stupid C. Is a huge target for high strength attacks while elves are not IE going up against that cannon line is a lot worse when they have something to shoot at. Yeah, but these are all problems we live with now and did before the revision (when they were 1 for 1) ...

Not to mention the necesity of atleast 1 unit of shades and/or harpies. Its going to be very interesting! -Rex Yeah, but think about the cost for units like tha...

People still use equivalent chariots in other armies, so I'd say, yeah, they'll always have a place. I might even still use my 3 chariot 2K army, depending on what the special slot competition is like in the new book. They are one of the cheapest units for their damage potential and one of the most ...

16? Is that all? Yeah, that's it. I like plasma, but I don't like it THAT much. Being a dark eldar player, I've always been more impressed with heavy bolters so I've got a pile of them as well. That, and my group convinced me to tone it down with the plasma (I had 25 or so with my original list). Y...

I have no problem with it, though I can't see that its particularly useful, especially for ranges of 24" which, on the first turn, are pretty easy to figure out if you're paying attention to your opponent's deployment or the guy gives you a marker at that point (a lot of people mark out the ext...

Take it from someone who uses 16 plasma guns in his 40K army - they get hot. Suffice it to say that there is an issue with the codex (and you're likely to get 5th ed 40K before any fix to it), but if he's going to do that do you and be a complete ass with that kind of rule lawyering, then just don't...

Yeah, sure, why not? Its magic. ;) It actually works quite well when you give him blood armour as well and if you feel you've got enough armour, give him the wand as well. You'll get that 1+ armour save in no time and you make him a real missile platform.

Great comments thank you Questions How far apart should I have the DR units from each other? You can play around with it, but it truly won't matter much. The idea is just to make some smart deployment moves by making some easy deployments to the centre of the table so he has to deploy similarly and...

Nope, the rule 'Controlled' states that only beastmasters and apprentices can be around the Hydra. Exactly. That being said, if you want a shot at taking on a unit head on with this kind of a combo, you can add the beastmaster with the web of shadows and issue a challenge after charging in the fron...

I'm not too sure you've got the list entirely right as it total 2025 points or so. As to the army, yeah, it looks like it could get pretty hard in there, no doubt about it. That tyrant is a right mean piece of work - ignore him completely if you can. He's toughness 6 and strength 7 so you've got not...

The simple answer to the question really is no, such a noble does not exist. Here's why. Regardless of cost, the most attacks you'll ever get out of a noble is 4, and at least one of them is going to be at S4 (either if he's got two weapons or if he's mounted on a cold one or something). Most common...

A beastmaster on a DP or DS should also do the job, and cheaper than a noble as well. Ah, not really, no. The beastmaster on pegasus will actualloy run you more than 100 points, whereas the other options I've listed are all less than 100 points. That being said, you're still absolutely correct in t...

Harpies for sure, if you can get them there. Other options include units of naked dark riders (ie, just the musician) or a noble on a dark steed with just the basic armour (still a 1+ save against shooting) and a lance. All are easily under the 100 points a cannon is.

I've firmly decided on the 2 choppas. Partly because I think its much more in theme, partly because I think I'll actually get better tactical results, but I think mostly because it decreases the model count in the list from 186 to 168. The percentage difference may be small, but after all that work ...

This is what you'd typically call splitting hairs guys. My advice: play it the way it was OBVIOUSLY intended, and if anyone for complains about it, simply swap out immediately for the hydra banner (or if that's not acceptable, drop it entirely) and dock his his entire sportsmanship score if its a co...

After doing some rolling tests, I'm starting to think that 2 choppas is the way to go. The difference in wounding is obvious (with twice the attacks you tend to get twice the wounds! Although there is some stuff that indicated that you get more than twice the wounds on weaker units - the statistical...

I've been wanting to put together an Orc army for a while now and had been holding off for the new army book to come out (and yes it came out a while back, but I got distracted by 40K) and now I think its time to finally put things together. To preface, I'm not looking for the list to be hard of any...

If you absolutely must put her on a cold one then the unit of knights is the place to be. They should hopefully not be hitting anything that's going to be able to kill them, which will generally mean hitting regular infantry, and that should keep her alive and well. The biting blade strikes me as an...
