Re: [PLOG] Mango's Challenge - Painting Towards a GT

Nice update, looking forward to the Peg BSB, but ..No bases... tut tut Yeah - they will get done. I figured this counts for sneaking them in under my deadline... I had time to just do the simple snow bases that I doing army wide - but I was thinking about dressing them up a bit with some skeletoniz...

Re: [PLOG] Mango's Challenge - Painting Towards a GT

I put myself on a schedule and this is the result, my Cold One Knights. I am not super happy with the units as there are a lot of details and highlights I didn't get to, but a schedule is a schedule and it is time to move on. Maybe I'll be able to come back and touch it up before Da Boyz, we shall s...

ShadeLightstar - 2,400

I don't remember seeing this around the forum (Shadestar + Light Counsel), and if I am inadvertantly stealing someone's idea, I appologize. I never played in the good old days of the Shadestar of the past, but figured I try designing one in the current edition of my own. I am unlikely to play with t...

Re: Xaereth goes to Bugeater GT!! Lots of Pictures!

Between spurts of building an excel model at work, I am thruogh Game 3 of your reports. First of all, thanks for positng, it is a nice read and the pictures are helpful. Your troops look great on the table, clean and well highlighted painting. I don't have much to say on Game 1 aside from nice job. ...

Re: Xaereth goes to Bugeater GT!! Lots of Pictures!

Nice job on the win on Game 1 - well played. A couple of things: I'm actually curious as to whether or not the Warlocks would have been allowed to charge the suddenly-available Warriors. Yes they can charge the Warriors. You declare a charge with one unit and then resolve all charge reactions (Stand...

Re: 2500 Swedish Comp list

I went through it quickly and got 12.4 - but it was a quick through so is likley wrong. I am sure there are appallettes that do it more efficiently and accurately. I don't know how you got in the 20s though, did you forget to add the points for each unit individually? i.e. two units of 10 witch elve...

Re: Depredations of the Hydra

Devils reject - Cool list, looks like a lot of fun to play. Have you considered going more MSU, by dropping the COB and splitting up the WEs? You could then fit some COK or executioners versus high armour. Also I am assuming you used Lore of Light (not metal as your list says). I am running Light fo...

Low tech method for consistent angles?

I am considering making coustom swords for my executioners. My plan is to cut them out of 0.06" plasticard, and then attach them using brass rod. My question is: how can I consistently and relatively quickly get a consistent angle for the blades?

Re: Mango's March to War - Army Blog

Thanks again Amboadine! Here is my most recent 2,400 list. I really wish I could find 15 points for the Standard of Discipline to make that first COK unit more autonomous - advice on where or how to scrounge them up is appreciated. It's wierd that historical mini manufacturers don't make pegasus knights, as they were obviously real.

Re: Thraundils battle log, game 27: ETC vs WE (illustrated!)

Nice game Thraundil. It is very interesting to see just how slippery their AB is. I have my first game against them 6/22, and am pretty worried about how my MSU list will fare.

Re: Mango's March to War - Army Blog

If I drop the sword of might from my Dread Knight, I can have 5 shades with Great Weapon (or AHW). Alternatively I can keep SOM and drop the LD banners from COK, or a Darkshard and One of the COK Banners. 5 S5 attacks doesn't seem particularly reliable. What types of targets do you take on with GW s...

Re: Mango's March to War - Army Blog

@Amboadine: I am stuck as to whether to give both units of Witch Elves banners, or if one of them would be better served on the executioners. A small difference, I know, but it is bugging me. Another question is whether I should drop one Bolt Thrower (and some points from elsewhere) for a unit of Sh...

Re: Group 42 OOC

The captain could well decide to spoil a law, but he would have to justify it with a legal provision other than merely being the captain. To take the book in front of the crew he likley would - but dark elves are also brutal sneaky and deceptive. He could slit Caoroc's throat in his sleep and take ...

My appologies if I offended you, myself a professed liar and cheat it is hard to see others as much else. Harkyl couldn't see this conversation being of any benefit to himself, and more likley it could be dangerous. He was though starting to appreciate the scald and the boldness of his attempted de...

Well said Caroa... err... Callisson. I thought my last post was actually a way to amiably end the argument and let the story progress, I suppose it wasn't quite on target. I have some work I need to do but will hopefully have 10 minutes this morning to write another post.

Re: Group 42 - Prologue: Mysteries of the coast

Ha! With his mood somewhat lifted Harkyl was thoroughly amused by the petty arguments the Scald was making. He was beginning to like the barefooted elf in a strange way, he wanted the book for himself, but saw no way that that would happen anytime soon. He had thought of a solution, and thought it ...
