I'm not sure if I would be for an Avatar of Khaine... I feel like this would be more incentive to run a Khainite army, but amongst what would be an army of the state, the Avatar would seem out of place, or is it just me and am I thinking mad?

Scaly Skin IS an armor save for all intents and purposes. There are 3 types of saves in the game, ward, regen, armor. Lore of metal would affect the hydra, AND would also negate the regen as lore of metal is flaming.

This is exactly the problem I have.

Re: Lost Gamer

@Nellamik,@thenick18: I'm sorry, the two of you think 20 mins is bad?! I'm Irish - so my local GW is GW Dublin - which is bare minimum of approx. 15-20 mins. away. It can be up to 30-40 mins. and that's while I'm in the same city!! When I move back home from college for the summer, you can at minim...

Doesn't the "make way" rule take care of this? The character/champion within a unit moves to the fighting rank to face his opponent? I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up? what am I missing?

Foundation Color

Maybe I can get some help here, I like bleached bone a lot, I am working on painting the upper layer in bleached bone. What is a good undercoat color for bleached bone? Is there a foundation color? Also the other problem I have is how thin the paint is, is there any way to thicken it up?

I'm a big fan of map based campaigns, you could add in some fluff like your armies are just passing through certain territories on the way to the territory you are looking to capture, to make it so you don't always just fight your neighboring enemies.

Magnetizing question

I just ordered rare earth magnets from K&J, and I'm wondering for the actual tray what people have used. I found a rubber steel insert that Gale Force 9 sells that I may use, but I was really curious to whether anyone uses "magnetic photo paper" sheets for your everyday printer that yo...

Logic is thrown out the window a lot in the warhammer world. Just create some fluff that the hags, are death hags in training and are better than an ordinary hag. Maybe they drank too much blood and are better skilled.

To go along with Tethlis, the new 8th Ed Rulebook is amazing. It truly is a "Bible" to the hobby, there should be no reason anyone who participates in warhammer doesn't have a rulebook. When I head to the local shop to play a match, I always bring my 5lb book with, even though I know most ...

Master and his Mount

Quick question as I can't recall from my book (I'm at work and plotting my next battle for the weekend); Can a master be mounted in a chariot? If so, I have a follow up - How do the mechanics work, sv wounds, etc, again I cannot recall. Does the chariot work in the same manner as adding a pegasus, I...

I love my corsairs. I typically run "the equalizer master" in my corsairs instead of spears, with the COB behind them, its makes that unit that more deadly, plus nowadays my opponents tend to leave COB blessed units alone, so I bless my more "mediocre" troops now they have to dec...

To me, ask him what he feels like painting, High Elves are typically meticulously painted and detailed, where as Beastment could be based and Devlan Mud washed highlighted and will be nice looking.

Yes I know it does, so it is driving me to finish the models I have, however it's a catch 22. I do enjoy painting and modeling a lot, but the lack of games makes for a lot less motivation to push onward. I've been watching lots of battle reports and living vicariously through them.

In one case you use the higher T and that is when taking T tests. It is stated in the BRB that models use the best value when taking characteristic tests. I believe this is stated somewhere under the split profile description, so CoK and T tests would us 4 as their toughness.

I would personally, at 1250, drop the shades and 1 harpy to add a chariot. Chariots are amazing in low point games, T5. It also gives you that on heavy hitter for higher T enemies as well as give you a higher T unit. My math may be off slightly. Just my opinion.

Frontage Size Debate

I was becoming curious as to what frontage size best suits us. 5 or 7 when it comes to units that we typically run 7 wide, corsairs, WE, BG (well used to), I began to debate with myself on why a frontage of 5 would be better than a frontage of 7, especially when taking on horde units, which typicall...
