Seems like we have similar ideas...I have 4 units of corsairs already painted and based, the bases are made from walnut stripping glued up and laquered for deck planking. Just finishing up 2 reapers and crew as well as 3 sorceresses on foot to go on similar bases. The eventual plan being to have the...

Just came across this thread.... Good luck to you and your new adventure, I would point out that the sculptor of some of the best dark elves, Chris Fitzpatrick lives in that area and bases Crocodile Games from there....would be very worth looking into I think. Again good luck, hope we see more from ...

Can you honestly say with a straight face that you could get a mass of goblin archers to lob their arrows at a selected target...even with a unit champion ? I like the house rules idea better.

Actually, the male beastmaster was the basis for the rider of a golden demon entry a few years ago, named Dark Elf Prince or some such, that was absolutely fantastic. Don't seel that one short....there is potential there.

I ended up doing both, applying sized sheet steel to the figure bases with sheet magnet applied to a custom made movement tray and applied shhet magnet to figure base and sheet steel to movement tray, depending on how well the pre-made steel pieces fit the figure base. Movement trays were all made u...

Washes might be more useful that you think, remember that oxidation will occure more frequently in low wear areas, while a brighter metalic highlight will remain on those areas recieving alot of wear.

Pretty army, considering ebay, you may get a better overall price selling each unit individually. Not alot of folks would be able/willing to fork over what it's worth as a whole. Good luck if selling is really what you want to do.

As far as the harpies are concerned, you could start with a white primer and work from there. Lightening your highlights will help as well.

Not to idly pile on the accolades, but that's beautiful work. The competition in Germany must be especially fierce, there's nothing on the GW website from the Toronto GD that holds a candle to that mini.

I like the black base color, it completes the red, silver/white, black color triad that has always been a strong combination. The bloodthirster wings are a great match for the manti....the furry wildness of them works so much better than the dragon wings that I'm surprised we haven't seen that conve...

Not really a complaint, but more of an observation...two things, first; the blue and red scheme should compliment and contrast each other better than they do, the reason why they don't is because both colors are dark with a little too much saturation. If one was brighter or lighter than the other, t...

I create my own to whatever size I need using sheet styrene, styrene "L" beam bordering on 3 sides and magnetic sheet covering the field in order to secure figure bases with sheet metal added to the bottom of their bases.
