Re: [PLOG]Mongoblins!

Thanks Azoth, I am also glad to see you back. I've put Zhang Liao into the Raging Heroes comp - where's your entry??? I have no progress with this log, I just felt like it was about time I posted a workspace shot. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj61/Arn_Khraidour/workspace1308.jpg I have mostly ...

Thanks.

The bases are a sort of parade ground type feel. This angle doesn't show it, there will be better pictures when its done.

I had got the idea that 30 or so for elite troops was becoming the norm, thanks for your advice.

Great models ; not so sure about Dark Elf conversions. They're kinda chunky. Maybe if you had the patience to mount a flames thrower on the Bastiladon, you could call that a Hydra.

Oh hi. Just thought I'd make sure all my three year old painting threads were up to date, because it's a fact ; the times have changed. First, because I was so disappointed with the first take, better pictures of my steam tank : http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj61/Arn_Khraidour/serpente1.jpg htt...

I wonder if you'd considered doing it the other way round - holding shields with crossbows slung? I'm going to try that myself.

I think I'm gonna try to make somehow the same unit as you did though I'm not that good with green stuff I wouldn't if I were you ; there's a rumour of a kit that will solve this problem for us coming soon, this year in fact. I think there is a thread with progress on these models ; it's called Win...

Re: [PLOG]Mongoblins!

Dubbell-poast! I call Zhang Liao finished. I won't be using him as Gobzino as I originally planned, I will use him as a fanatic. I'll maybe do up a sort of Mandarin type like the one one the wolf-cart in his stead. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj61/Arn_Khraidour/zhangetc.jpg Also, observant re...

Re: Greenstuff stitched skin cloaks / Mengil-like flayed ski

Good idea I'd say. How about you make yourself a blob of greenstuff and practice cutting stitchlines into it? I'm sure you'll find something that works. Then there will be a good tutorial on it.

Re: [PLOG]Mongoblins!

Have you ever considered having moulds made of these to be able to cast them? Yes, and I'm pretty sure you were the first to suggest it, three or four years ago? I am considering stripping and repainting, and that does make one more reason to do so. It would sure make an interesting research projec...

I must check this log more often. It seems you have a lot of fun in here. Your assassin reminds me of Bane. I hope that from now on, when he issues a challenge he starts with the words "So... you think the darkness is your ally?"

Re: Anyone try to buy Witch Elves lately?

They are willowy, it's the accessories that are chunky.

On the plus side, if the rumours of a Witch Elf/Harpy kit are true, they can hardly do that without naked breasts, unlessssss... they fundamentally retcon the whole Harpy concept.

Re: Anyone try to buy Witch Elves lately?

GW won't bring boobies back because their target age group is young teens and under... while their most loyal customers are likely 25+... Yay marketing. It's just like video games. Most aim for the 12+ rating while research shows that over 60% of gamers are in the 26-35 range... Which makes not one...

Nice. Mind the novelists first rule though - show, don't tell. In other words, let the facts of your character's lives become apparent from what they do and say. And don't do what I always used to do and forget who is speaking, and who they're speaking to, and who might be listening etc. It's not yo...

Ah. In all honesty, I prefer your version of the Summoner on Steed. I should never have sculpted clothes on, and your skin tone is much better than mine. Good job. I never get offended when people hack my conversions, unless they do it badly. No such problem here. I also have the Ghoul Queen, though...
