Re: Beginner Escalation Lists 500, 1000, and 1500

No....you ALWAYS take shields on spears..there's no reason not to. RxBs is a debatable thing, but spears do. Better protection against S3, lets you have a chance to live against S4 or S3 AP. The extra handful of extra spears you get out of it usually isn't worth the extra heap of models you will los...

Re: Group 28 - The Invasion of Ulthuan

Jacks listened as plans were discussed by the more hands-on elves of his group, he smiled, his artefact was going to be useful here for once. "Subtlety? When was our brash noble tamed?" Jacks chuckled. "I will stay back and take out the sentries from above, Kykish if you may help damp...

Dragonbane Gem. USE to like Giant Blade (the +3S one) but now monsters are greater than T6 so it's useless. Umm...don't think I actually use anything else from the BRB...

Re: RXB suck. Ya, I said it.

Difference being Omnichron, you're looking at a long term grind. DE aren't designed for a long term grind, they're a one or two round in combat and one side will have broken through, preferably the DE, otherwise you probably picked a wrong fight and setup incorrectly for that fight. RxBs with shield...

Re: RXB suck. Ya, I said it.

I think 4 RxBs with shields would beat 6 spearmen with shields. RxBs are more durable, that can't be argued because it's a fact, maybe less than CoKs and CoCs due to their better armour, but can still be more durable even than them. It's got nothing to do with points cost. Back onto the topic, RxBs ...

Re: Beginner Dark Elves list... help needed and appreciated

Oh yeah my bad! That's a viable solution, it allows your CoB to focus its ward protection on the 30 WE at the start, your opponent can target a BG unit but it wouldn't really matter since you'll have another unit with AP banner marching straight towards him/her relatively unscathed, or else you have...

Re: Beginner Dark Elves list... help needed and appreciated

I mean give both units of BG the AP banner because we have one in our book and there's one in the BRB too, so we have access to two! That's only if you have the points allowance. Banners are always generally more useful on larger units because the unit will survive longer to use it compared to small...

Re: 2400pts Avoidance list versus Dwarven aggro list

haha there's no wrong way to go, and DRs are definitely not a meta nor good stat unit! It's just how you use it (ha!), I'm a firm believer you can win with almost any given list. I mean, the points are even, so technically both armies have a fair chance? Unless you handicap yourself by putting in de...

hahaha quite simple! I assume you're familiar with Chronicler? Once the report you write up is done, click on "export to html" and you'll generate a page of smaller images of each of your turns on a fresh web page. I use...image shack? I think? Photobucket works also, and I save all the im...

Re: Beginner Dark Elves list... help needed and appreciated

Some advice from another poster is always a welcome sight. Generally 7wide is a safe formation to go, I personally stick by it. Your combat units you definitely will go 7wide because it counters enemy 5wide formations by maximising the number of models you can use in the fight. It's universally usef...

Banner of Discipline is from the general rulebook. Otherwise I refer to it as the +1Ld banner haha. Rarely anyone uses Banner of Cold Blood :)

A bit of luck involved. The army had three shooting platforms, Thunderers and Rangers? (the ones with Crossbows) an Organ Gun and a Cannon. My opponent went unconventional dwarven list.

Are you allowed to take just 30 shields? I was always under the impression that the whole unit had to have the same equipment? And Banner of Cold Blood??? You prefer it over the Banner of Discipline?

Re: Beginner Dark Elves list... help needed and appreciated

mmm..if you're going Lv2 then perhaps fire or metal? I'm not too sure? Shadow IS great, all I need from it for my supporting mage is just its signature spell Miasma though. If you're taking a lv2 then you're really going for a more offensive style of magic, so I'm not sure if you want more damage ou...

Jacks breathed deep, his vision came back to him in what felt like an eternity. He gave his opponent a disgusting look, it seemed all too easy, almost like the captain did not care for life or death at that point when he knew Jacks' blade was trying to find skin to bleed on his face. Guess they both...

Hi Dala'! Used your list today, actually handicapped myself a fair bit because I didn't know you had Tome of Furion and sets of 6 Harpies instead of 5! But as you can guess from my excitement, the list still won against a more...interesting and aggressive dwarven army which also had an annoying anvi...

How does a Lv2 with scroll fare against a Lv4? Lv2 against Lv3 in defense is practically the same as Lv3 in defense against Lv4, but I'm curious as to how difficult it is to control an enemy's magic phase when it's Lv2 against Lv4? Hi again iamghost! Glad to see you contributing elsewhere, sounds ro...

RHB AFAIR is correct. They only ever suffer -1 for shooting...from some source. Which should be multi-shot?

Rending Stars on the otherhand I do not know of because I never used it sorry.
