Old Question: Best Alternative Dark Elf Models

Post by Malakai »

I'm working on three armies, High Elves, Empire and Dark Elves. The first two are nearly collected however the last is no where near finished. It was my first 28mm army (Epic fan). I sold it. This was around 4th edition I believe (High Elves/Goblins box). It was a terrible mistake. Other than 40K Eldar I have to say that I have never had an army that I enjoyed the background nor aesthetic more than those two. I've had two-fifty American shipped and will have another two-fifty next month but as we all know fantasy is more expensive than anything but FW.

My rambling point is there are many models, crucial models, characters, assassins, Lords on Cold Ones that don't cost $70 dollars, Sorceresses. I need an alternate site to get them. Mantic produced this beautiful model yet I can't find a listing for her. Image

Help me out. I intend to do these three armies on square bases and in 8th edition. No offense to AoS fans but it's not my thing. I've dropped all of my other projects to persue this project. Those three armies. And I'll have them before they disappear. And make no mistake they will.
Thank you

Raging Heroes is a good place to look, although the models aren't much cheaper.

They have a kickstarter where you can buy most models you need for a DE army, and they look absolutely amazing.

Unfortunately, quality comes at a price. I haven't seen anything else that could appease me, if I were to go outside the GW range. I do hunt for cheap GW deals though, which yielded me a stock of miniatures large enough to last me for a few years. It also buys me patience: I can sit things out, save the money and wait for good deals to come up. It works.
I love me a bowl of numbers to crunch for breakfast. If you need anything theoryhammered, I gladly take requests.

Being a fan of Epic I'm well aware of a dead game and the prices they go up and up and up. My unsolicited advice, buy what you want/need now. Thank you for the links they are very much appreciated.

There are still a lot of 8th edition models second hand and cheap armies on dutch market. Look at www.marktplaats.nl

I did the same as Dearon and can paint for several years without purchasing
