I just thought I'd post this for you guys to give your opinions on. I copied it from thewarhammerforum. Firstly, the quote the other post used...
This pack contains Morathi, a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes in eight components and is supplied with a 50mm square monster base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly - we recommend using Citadel Super Glue and Citadel Paints.
Does this mean that the correct base size for all DE pegasi is 50 mm, that they have to stay on the side of units they join, and they're no longer able to replace 4 warriors to the front of a DE unit and absorb hits that otherwise would have caused wounds on the regiment?
Now basically, I ask this - as the druchii-specific forum, what is your take on this?
The general agreement on this was that you run your model on the base it is supplied with. If your model was supplied with a 40mm base then that is what you use. If you get a 50mm base then that is what you use.

I see. I should have realised this would have probably been discussed already, but seeing that Morathi thread on TWF sort of gave me the nudge to move the debate over here, since you guys are the go-to site for druchii. Especially now that G.W's crappy new website no longer has half as many rules and/or tactics articles. Oh for the days of Paul Sawyer and Gav Thorpe!!
Yay, this again. Let's end the thread here, we really don't need to rehash this. devils reject has it right - you play with exactly which ever base your model came with in the box/blister, even if it is identical to a model which came with a different sized base in its box/blister.

Fair point, Red.
