Returning to the druchii

Post by Nightmare84 »

Hey guys just found myself the proud owner of some druchii.
And just wanting to know if what I have is a good solid start.

Basically I got 56x warriors, 40x corsairs, 10x cold one riders and new black dragon.

I know the dragon as in most edition for last 10 years is the worst of it now is the core?
Thanks for the help and hope to put together a list as soon as I can find my army book :?:

Dark Elves Rock :D

What you have already looks like a great start for the horde-heavy 8th edition of the game - Enjoy! (I know you will ;) )

Welcome Nightmare84 to D.net.
The dragon is valuable, don't dismiss it.

Often, people would take either warriors or corsairs.
Warriors are more defensive, corsairs are more offensive.
10 COK are great.

What you need now is:
sorceresses (preferably one on pegasus or DS)
agile troops (lots of harpies, shades, DR and/or pegasus master).
A small unit of RXB would be a good idea, but DR can do the job.

Thanks for the welcome :)

Still can't find my army book at home but had a small read through at gw today.

Was thinking of going.

40x spearman for a horde and 16x rxb.

And then mixing corsair bits for some shades and dark riders.

If I plan to use a unit of corsairs what's the best set up? 2x hand weapons?

First of all welcome, me myself just started DE a month ago.

At the moment i run a horde of 30 corsairs with frenzybanner. They do wonders in combination with shadow magic (mindrazor) and ofcourse a assassin in the unit.

You have a great start. (better then me).
Help you I will........but eat we must first. -Yoda - Empire strikes Back-

40 spearmen will make a bus (5 wide), not a horde (10 wide).
If you like hordes, go for corsairs (your choice: AHW or RHB, but with FC and SSS), or WE or Execs.
These units are also nice when smaller: 7-wide unit of ~25 corsairs, AHW, SSS.
A small unit of 10 RHB, muso, makes a cheap fun to play disposable unit.

RXBmen are nice in 10 + muso.
They are also good in ~20, FC, shields, used in melee as a complement.
