Really? Around here, more than 1/3 of the armies at the latest big tournament were either DoC, OK, Dwarves, Skaven or Empire and they all bring at least one cannon. Expect this to be even more frequent when the new Dwarf book is released in a few months.

DoC will ALWAYS have cannons in tournaments now (no wonder, they are insanely good for half the points they are worth).

A master or lord will have to have a good ward save and hide quite well if he doesn't get the 2+ look out sir. As Setomidor says, a lot of people uses cannons and you are bound to meet that in at least one and usually two of the matches you have in tournaments.

Characters are not scared about DoC cannons... 5-10 points and you have 2+ ward against them.

Wish we had cannons. Causing D6 wounds nearly automatically is really gross.
At least D6 wounds for some sort of BS shot would be cool.

You bet next edition of the game fantasy will get allies like 40k and we will get access to them that way.

Honestly? I hope not. Too much shenanegins with 40k army lists.
I love the percentage based build of fantasy. Forces balanced armies.
Besides GW went the percentage direction so they could sell more models. If it goes back to "hero-hammer" they won't sell anything. That's half the reason I'm so surprised our models are so point expensive.

With this eddition it's prettyeasy to have both on the beg lord.

Mount+heavy armor+sea dragon cloak=2+ armor save for mundane. Give him a halberd, dragon helm, and Twilight cloak and he should be fine (seriously need to test this out for myself  )

I think it is a safe bet that a lot of monsters/characters can shrug off 3 ST4 attacks with their armor/regen. I think this is a bad combination.

Really? You do in the iBook version of the Armybook, is this different in the printed version?

Edit: According to this scan you get armour saves also in the printed version of the book.

You can't avoid taking certain units just because the opponents take cannons. That's allowing your opponent to dictate play. Instead, learn and adapt and take them out. Cannons are also not as accurate as most people think. They have a higher fear factor than kill factor. Avoid em for two turns, take em out, win.
