Upcoming Tournament Need some opinions. (2250)

Post by Azure »

Well boys and girls, the tournament season has come back around. Format is 2250 and special characters are allowed. Because of this, all the stops are coming out on my side of the table in order to protect myself against the inevitable Thorek's and Franz's out there.

Without further ado, I wrote 2 lists. The first being a wee bit more offensive with a little less magic defense the the second being a bit safer in my opinion. I'd really appreciate any feedback AND if there is interest in a tournament blog Id be more than willing to type it all up. So, here goes nothing.

Also, to anyone in the bay area (I'm looking at you Bad Beast, Dyvim and Les Miserables) you guys heading out to Dundracon this year? It's always been a nice starter up for the tournament season. Also, why hasn't QCR been updated yet? I'm dying to reserve my slot haha!

While writing these lists I was discussing the lists with my friend and I came up with the analogy that either of these lists should be fine against most opponents EXCEPT VC. That game would be a cat and mouse (with DE being the mouse) except the mouse has a .45 caliber magnum... but the kitty cat has super heavy kevlar on its body. So the mouse would have to go for the vulnerable pieces like the feet. Not sure why this had to be in there but I thought it was pretty damn funny.

So, list #1 to start.

So what does everyone think? Both lists are definitely on the higher side of the power scale but I'm looking for honestly any feedback.

Thanks for the read,

Shameless bump...

Any opinions? Im also thinking about possibly dropping the BG in the second list to go with some Cold One Knights... as a transport for the RoH.

I agree.

You first list needs an extra CoK at least to avoid your characters being picked out.

Both dragon lords are odd as well. I like the combination on a steed or CO but it leaves him a bit vulnerable on a monster.

I don't see a point to the handbows, and you could get an extra CoK with the oints if you dropped them

I would almost always want that extra CoK to get you to six models particularly if you are running the hydra banner just ot make sure Ican take a causualty or two on the way to paydirt.

I'd also rather have deathpeircer or caledor's bane than the hydrablade on the dragon lord to tackle the high toughness lots of armor things.
