1+ Armour (either mundane, if mounted on a CO, or Armour of Darkness)
Pendant of Khaeleth
Whip of Agony (with mundane armour) or Crimson Death (with AoD)
The Other Trickster's Shard

If you go Crimson Death, take Dragonhelm alongside full mundane gear on a cold one (or enchanted shield for a peg mounted Dreardlord with the Whip). This also gives you a save against any possible incoming Searing Dooms that you lord would otherwise have no save against.

Yep, Dragonhelm is a good idea, too. :)

Dreadlord
Cold One
Heavy Armour
Sea Dragon Cloak
Dragonhelm
Crimson Death
Pendant of Khaeleth
The Other Trickster's Shard

I´d rather give him the Soulrender as he is pretty much invulnerable anyway Oo

So

Soulrender (GW, armor piercing)
Armor of Darkness (1+ AS)
Pendant (Reverse Ward)
Other tricksters shard (enemies must reroll wardsaves)

Should kill anything he comes in contact with. Problem is just that he doesn´t have the crown to be stubborn, but you asked for challenge only.

Thanks for the info
I asked for a challenge focus because I usually play 40K and challenges is a thing that I love of Wfb
Also I put the dread with 19 corsair with SSS and Ahw

Soulrender is good as well, but in 8th the "Strength cannot be reduced" part of Crimson Death is not to be underestimated (Lore of Shadow is quite common). ;)

Hi there,

No point in paying a Sword of Might for a character killer Dreadlord if you can obtain just the same benefit with a mundane Halberd. Imho, the only reason to take a magic weapon in a Dreadlord is either because you want him to chase ethereal units or because such magical weapon's benefit is beyond mundane weapon's reach. Also, for the same points cost you have Soulrender, which gives one extra S point and Armor Piercing attacks, so definitely say no to Sword of Might x)

Since you want your Dreadlord to kill characters, only magic weapons advisable are either Antiheros Sword (is it called like that?) for obvious reasons, Crimson Death (whose S is unmodifiable), Whip of Agony (+1A, +1S and unmodifiable S) or Soulrender (S6, Armor piercing). The sword and the whip can be combined with shield for greater protection, but with Khaeleth you already have a bullet-proof protection, so I'd go for the more offenssive weapons. Combine any of these with The Other Trickster's Shard and you have a natural born character killer. Support him with Cauldron or Shadow Lore buffs and he will kill just about any character (except maybe a tanky Dwarf Lord).

Or you might want to give him a mundane weapon and invest those points in upgrading his mount to a Dark Pegasus.

The build that has worked best in my experience as a character killer is that proposed by another user of this site, Ichigosomething (sorry don't remember the exact name >.<):

Soulrender, Dragonhelm, PoK, The Other Trickster's Shard on Dark Steed. Cheap and effective.

One I like the most is Regen Armour, Giant Blade and Dragonbane Gem with full mundane armour on a Cold One.

It's a very effective monster hunter too ;)

This is the build I currently is trying to use. Haven't had the opportunity yet but he sounds great!
