New Warriors of Chaos Pics thread (new pics!)

Post by Kinslayer »

there is already a thread open about discussion of what the new book will include, here, but i keep having to browse through all the pages of it for images a bit like when our own book was coming out, so i thought i would open a seperate thread with the pics so far, where people can add new pictures as they are discovered.

I really hope in all fairness that those marauders aren't plastic... otherwise where's the justice in the world? Chaos getting plastic fast while we don't? really hope they aren't plastic :P

They are plastic for sure. I really like them, GW progress with plastic cavalry is outstanding and they make great promise of the future.

Look at it in different way - those horses, judging from the picture, so far looks briliant for Dark Steeds, after close examination I'll surely acquire them for my Dark Riders. Also there's possibility they'll be better base for DR conversion that those #@#%! Glade Riders conversions we see too much.

Also they are, imagine how plastic DRs will look like... when they'll come. When, not if.

That juggernaught looks flippin awesome. I've seen it written that there will be Dragon Ogres as Rare choices in the new book. I realy, really hope they do new models for them. The old ones are flippin awful. A friend of mine did a fantastic conversion using the torso of Rat Ogres and the bodies of the dragon ogres but it would be nice to see some nice shiny new ones

Nope, no Dragon Ogres as rare choices I'm afraid.

Dragon Ogres are special choices in the new book

And unfortunately they're not making new models for them.

This is really motivating me to start my Warriors of Chaos ideas from a year or two ago. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new Knights and Chosen. In fact I may buy some warriors or marauders after a hydra.

I mentioned in another thread (which was a duplicate lol) that there are other head options for the Lord - some rather nice looking khornate helms for them to wear :)

The maurauders are plastic (know it from a gux from GW-shop) just aswell as the knights of chaos...

I love the new models all together but most of all I like the mount of the Khornelord.

Horsemen, Hounds and Knights are plastic, the rest are metal.

New models are certainly good news, however I can't say that they changed much, although them becoming plastics is a big win win.

Love the new lord (undiv), but marauders look a bit boring to me =(. Don't know about the knights - I can't make them out. I get a strange feeling that these models don't look dynamic enough... or maybe its just me being too picky.

Anyway I love chaos so this new stuff might give me a moral boost to start a chaos army after I get 2000+ pts of druchii.

I wonder how the rules changed... still undecided whether to do nurgle, tzeentch or slaanesh.

I'm annoyed... Chaos gets plastic light cavalry which barely anyone uses (will probably change with new book)
And we don't get plastic dark riders which are present in 90% of Druchii armies...

well, GW does hate elves...

btw, is there alot more warriors of chaos players out there compared to dark elves (or any other armies)? the thread at warseer has gotten so long that they had to open a 2nd discussion thread. don't think this was done for any other rumors discussion.

Dalamar: Dark riders are the best selling blister in games workshop history. Why would they sacrifice one of their biggest profits? And if you don't like the dark riders, you convert them from a different plastic box which they already have a mold for. There was absolutely no reason for them to make new dark riders besides making us happy and we all know how that goes!

Seriously I don't get this "best selling blister" propaganda.
Take 10 Druchii players and ask them how many Dark Rider Blisters they bought. I'm sure you won't go much over 10.

Tournaments usually include over 15. Granted Tournament players are the slight minority but ok. Lets say ten

Ten Dark Rider blisters - 100 dollars.

Now what other army uses that many blisters? And what army essentially HAS to include at least 100 dollars of these blisters.

Its been shown that they are the best selling blisters in the GW set. Factoring in the fact that everyone either buys the blisters or goes for a different plastic set, there is no reason to pay for a new mould to be made UNLESS you are going for the few players who would replace the metal ones with new plastic dark riders. I doubt I would.

I used/use Marauder horsemen all the time with flails. You'd be surprised how many opponents underestimate them, or just plain don't know what they can do. I made my own plastic ones using a box set of marauders, empire knights and a little creative converting/greenstuffing.

To be fair.. in my personal opinion.. those plastic marauders are the only things the new Chaos got going for them in terms of models. The chosen warriors and knights are not so impressive. Looks like they just grabbed a model, covered it with glue, and rolled it around bits of skulls, spikes, and weapons (ok, I'm exaggerating). It is indeed unfortunate DE don't have plastic DR. Admittedly, thats the only reason why I don't use DRs.. though I may just cave in and convert some Glade Riders (yes... I know.. generic).

DE release was much more impressive with plastic Corsairs and Cold On knights alone.
