To be honest, I have no idea. Isn't he a separate entity from both VC and TK these days?
Re: Nagash
copy pasted from carpe noctem:
Ok ladies and gents this is what I have heard.
The end times will be coming after grey knights which means they will be going up for pre order 23rd, there will be Nagash, Nagash end times campaign book, plastic spirit host, Mannfred and nightgheist / Arkhan the black / Neferata on some undead monster plastic kit.
There will be a battle report in WD, Nagash vs Tomb kings army, Nagash fights them on his own. He is very expensive.
He can be taken in any undead army. Undead are running rampant through the warhammer world and because of this undead units can be taken in any army.
nagash costing about 500 slaves

Re: Nagash
Interesting, hopefully Nagash will get a decent model this time around
Re: Nagash
I wonder if this means the Brets are getting skipped completely? One less 1+ AS army to deal with I suppose
Cheers,

You didn't think Coco the Clown was a fitting incarnation for the Dark Overlord of Undeath?

Gary Morley will live in infamy for that work.

Just say about 1000 points. Is this a Warseer thing to do this slave cost thing?

I was just reading about this model on a mates blog. Here is what the sculptor had to say about it:
"The story on the Nagash, model... is this;
It was my first big multi-part mini I had ever attempted. and it certainly went through many versions in sculpting. (In those days concept drawing were very sketchy and I had very little input.) But only one version ever made it to the moulds.
However, there are two head versions. The original head was based on the design that I was given, a more Zombie looking type. And that was the one that my design manager and I (at the time) preferred. But at that time all miniatures had to be approved not only by the design studio, but also by the sales management.
This is where it came un-stuck! They didn't like it, and preferred to have a skull...?
Much to my dislike. Now because of release dates and schedules I had one day to put it 'right'. So preferring the original I went ahead and made the alternative. Now, I never thought for one moment thought that they would approve the (laughing clown) skull and would revert back to the original.
The Joke back-fired. And to my horror it was approved and they released it!
Throughout my time at GW I know I made some sculpts that I was not that happy with.
But, Nagash has been the one model that Haunted me all through my time there.
(AND IT STILL DOES!)
And vowed that I would re-make before I left. However, that was never to be."

Re: Nagash
Counting against Gary Morley is all of the other sculpts he made at the time. Coco isn't a stand out of unquality amongst his work. And he can't complain about the concepts, because they were epic:
...although he did go on to become a good sculptor in time, but his style only suits certain races, such as Goblins.
I love this recent kitbashed Nagash:
So it will be interesting to see the new official version.

Re: Nagash
Ahh, Nagash, I remember the days when he was good, but still went down to a bloodthirster (the full fat version, not the cheap rubbish you get these days).
If they toned down some of the more obvious 4th ed flourishes from the artwork, they would be on to a winner.

Re: Nagash
GW must be scanning their back catalogue looking for things in FB they can UBER-size in the manner of Knight Titans, etc, etc.
I'll reserve judgment till I see it up close.

Actually, that's a good point! I thought it was just a close up of him on a hill or something above the army but that guy lools massive now that you point it out.

I think he is just on a hill, rather than that big.
Fairly happy with the new look and even happier about a new book to digest.

That's one hell of a magic phase.
9 spells to choose from 5 lores, actually surprised he just doesn't know all Death, Undeath, Vamp and TK spells.
Can 10 dice a spell at level 5... Watch the miscast coming:)
Not a bad combat phase either - 6 x S8 attacks with D3 wounds and potential HKBlow with 4+/4++ and monster rules.
It is a fairly fun fluffy rule set he has, at 1,000 points it is only going to be huge battles you will see him in though.
Re: Nagash
Nice, points O.O only 4k+ battles
I'm curious, can he store extra dices f.ex after rolling IF but before rolling a miscast. Because most of them cause lost D6 of them, it would be nice power saviour for him.
Who needs Heroic KB when You have 7A S8 D3 wounds

He's a beast all right. Quite similar to his 4th rules and points cost IIRC.

So you could use him as your only lord character in a 4000 point game. Yeah that will happen a lot. My friends refuse to play even 3000 point games.
