But I haven't heard or seen of any new Magic Cards. Maybe it is just a bound item, that is the speculation in my neck of the woods.

I hoped to see access to demon summoning as soon as i heard the rumors... it fits my army far better than summoning undead.

I agree with Dalamar, not only would Daemons fit my army better than undead, I also have an existing Daemon army to draw on and no undead. Summoning undead would be very cool!

Hopefully a good reason to whip out the ol'bloodthirster.
Re: Summoning Deamons? Oh boy....
IIRC, Storm of magic did just allow any army to summon undead and daemons.
GW might give that another try.
If that was the case, then the 3rd book would allow all armies so summn monsters.

I'm in the exact boat as you. Will make the Tauranga Open interesting next year with us both summoning deamons to give our Dark Elves a hand

Storm of Magic didn't allow to summon demons during the game though, but it does have rules to include demons in any army through demonic pact rules. Those demons you still have to pay points for and don't have to summon (but they can be banished by your opponent via a cantrip spell...)

Re: Summoning Deamons? Oh boy....
I would really like it if we could summon Daemons....would be a fun use for my Daemon army...to be summoned by Dark Elves ;-)
However if I look at the line it says 'Chaos can summon deamons'
To me this reads that only Warriors of Chaos; Deamons of Chaos and maybe Beastmen will be able to summon Daemons.
Which does souns logical...Undead can be controlled ... Daemons can only be coerced.

Apparently thats what Warseer says.
Only the combined Chaos list (WoC, DoC, Beastmen) can use summoning.

Actually, it was only the "Exalted Greater Daemons" and the Plague Toads that were summoned in this respect (as Bound Monsters) and vulnerable to cantrips.
If you took a Daemonic Pact, they were subject to Fragile Alliance rules and could pop out of existence. However, they were immune to the Unbind Monster cantrip.
(yes, Storm of Magic was why I collected a small Daemons force)

Re: Summoning Deamons? Oh boy....
If summoning daemons was limited to core it would work otherwise it could become over powered but if GW wants to sell models they might want to open it up to everything. I haven't got the Nagash undead summoning rules but I thought it allowed summoning monsters? Is this correct?

Proof that GW's marketing policy is sound.Liquidedust wrote:regular edition of Glottkin is already sold out . . . .

Re: Summoning Deamons? Oh boy....
I think I agree with Rork here. I simply believe they got the popularity of the End Times badly wrong. They could have made a whole lot more money if they had more available.
With the time it takes to produce books they would not have had time to react to the volume requirements after Nagash sold out. Plus chaos is far more popular and the rules for combining three armies appeal to many more people.
Also the fact it was already limited to a number per person suggests they knew they were short.

They'd rather sell out their stocks than be left with unsold merchandise. Besides, by proving that they genuinely do only produce a limited number of models, they inspire gamers to buy buy buy a new product as soon as it comes out, which generates a continuous sequence of buying.

I agree entirely with the Limited editions, however selling out of base range product whilst there is a definite customer requirement is quite frankly a ridiculous marketing strategy. Launching products is what I do for a living, and the only time we would start selling with a customer allocation on non limited edition runs, is because we know we have a supply issue and do not have time to rectify within lead times.
