Testing beta druchii...

Post by Khainesconscience »

Hello there,

I want to playtest the druchii-beta-list in our mordheim-campaign.
Before, I played Shadow Elves.

What do you think of the following list?
Maybe, to much darksteel?
Thank you for posting your opinion.

H E R O E S

75 Noble
30 Darksteelsword
06 Darksteeldagger
20 Repeater Crossbow
00 Dagger
131

45 Lordling
30 Darksteelsword (-halberd?)
00 Dagger
75

45 Lordling
35 Repeater Crossbow
00 Dagger
06 Darksteeldagger
88

45 Dark Elf Sorceress
10 Sword
00 Dagger
55

40 Beastmaster
10 Halberd
00 Dagger
50

H E N C H M E N

35 1x Corsair
10 Sword
00 Dagger
45

45 1x Witchelf
10 Halberd
00 Dagger
55

____
499

I found this thread and i wonder, where to find these shadelist?
Further, I think I somewhere read about a slaanesh-cult list.
Well, probably both lists didn´t make it, because in the beta-thread both were not mentioned.
However, I would be very interested in.

Thanks & greets,
Marc

Hi, thanks for your effort.

Well, the problem with darksteel is the price. You have darksteel sword on your noble and lordling. If you replaced them with normal ones, you could afford another model. It may not be that important in your group, but where I play, numbers count more then equipment. They certainly do if you want to optimize your winning chance. There is also problem with giving the best close combat equipment to noble - while it is very fluffy, it is also wasting, because your noble should rather avoid close combat. If he dies, he can not be replaced.

You have wrong RXB price on second lordling.

Sword vs halberd - I would consider halberd for Witch elf, but not for Lordling. And even in the case of WE, if you do the math, you will find that three attacks with two hand weapons give you bigger chance to wound then two attacks with halberd.
In case of lordling, I would not like to rely on a single dice roll. Plus, lordling can learn Expert Swordsman.

Shades and Cult of Pleasure are described in Druchii Herald as as a short lists of suggested differences from beta. There was not time to make them into full lists. Since they should be based on vanilla Druchii list, I would like to finish that one first.

Hi Loflar,

thanks for your reply.

I played yesterday against pestilens skaven with the following list:

Noble, Sword, Dagger, Repeater Crossbow

Lordling, Sword, Dagger, Repeater Crossbow

Lordling, Sword, Dagger

Sorceress, Sword, Dagger

Beastmaster, Beastlash, Dagger

Shade, Repeater Crossbow, Dagger

Witchelf, Halberd, Dagger

2 Slavehounds

Well, I won the game, but I must admit that my opponent was a mordheim-nooby.

The noble did a good job - he killed a giant rat and a novice with his crossbow.

My sorceres got Blades of Khaine, so she supported the close combat lordling and the beastmaster. The Sorceress killed one novice, that was stunned by the lordling before.

The shade stood upon a building and shot, but did no damage.

Unfortunately, the witchelf was killed by a slingshot.

One of so slavehounds went out of action either, but I think, that´s one of their jobs. ;)

The sorceres and the noble had enough experience for a level-up.
Both rolled a new skill. I decided to make the noble an urathien master.
The witch elf became a master of poison.

I spent my gold to buy a corsair with an axe.
Maybe, he will be useful in scenarios like hidden treasure.
In addition, I bought a helmet and a darksteeldagger for the close combat lordling.

Looking forward to my next game, could be against Ostlanders, Blackorcs, Lizardmen or Beastmen.

Finally, here´s a thaught on the witchelf and the slavehounds: many special rules, witch make it sometimes difficult to keep the overview. but, on the other hand, I like all of the rules and I think, after a few battles this would not be such a big problem.

Greetings,
Marc

Well, congratulations.

Yes, slavehounds are the cheapest thing we have, so they get the cannonfodder job ;-)

I agree, that the special rules need to be reduced. See this thread for my ideas on the matter.
