Wow! Awesome job!

My only issue -- if it's Death Night, shouldn't the witch elf be holding up an elven head?

It's been while my last paintings. I had couple years focused on my career and studies with little playing and even less painting hours. Lately (around May) I started back paint my army.

I will post in this week couple models I painted for this 3 month to my Army.

First: 5 models of shades, this is first unit of three. This one is a little conversion from bits I had collected for all of this years:
Heads, legs, cloaks - from Wood elves glade guards
torso: - Dark Elves Warriors
arms: - Dark Elves Corrsairs

Love that cauldron conversion - that has got to be my all time favourite conversion of that unit! I have not seen anything else out there that can top it - and the painting is pretty good as well.

I look forward to seeing some more of your work - have you thought about entering the Masters painting comp.

Today photos of 9 corsairs I painted. 10th was used for my hero conversion in my next year golden demon project. He will be replaced in unit by Lokhir. He's painting progress is about 95% right now, and I'm waiting for blood paint to arrive.

Very good work. Metal looks good, though you may want to add a bit of contrast to it. I think the faces look a little too red, and the hair looks a little too white. Also, the blending on the purple and the leather is a bit rough. That is, it looks great and you should smash the Raging Heroes competition, but your Golden Daemon will have to be rather better.

Also, it looks like you may have painted some parts of the sea dragon cloaks as if they were metal? You're free to disagree of course but I thought those bits were meant to be part of the cloak. It doesn't make the miniature look bad or wrong, it's just something I noticed.

I hope that is of some service to you.

Layne

Ofc, thx Layne. I want all suggestions, especially constructive criticism because this is how we get better.

Skin: weird because I used purple ink instead red to looks more cold. Maybe to much dwarf flesh. I will try more grey hair to.
Metal Collars: I painted champion's armor with similar pattern, and then I decide to go with it as it would be metal.
Blending and contrast - i know i must work on it. But I don't paint one model until it's perfect, I paint try to pick from it as much as i can, and then paint better another. That's way maybe my army will be painted in the end ;) Please remind me in my new works about contrast's and better blending until it will be perfect.

I know I must practice a lot, and GD level is far before me, but IMO making works for competitions is best way to make Your skill better. And also this give me motivation to paint something big as dragon.

Thank You again, I hope You will visit and comment next minis as well.

Today, I want to show You first 3 models of my Black Guards. The rest will be converted but I waiting for new book to see if they will be good enough to play in a first place, because making things in green stuff is pretty hard ad require much more time. You can see, on standard bearer the same motive like on Avatar from cauldron. I want this Hand of Khaine from Clar Karond be main theme of my army.

Also I want to show You first harpy of second unit I've already painted. Unfortunately last time I was in a studio I didn't make photos of first unit.

Great painting!

A tipp if you want models that deserves painting is to use something else for the harpy. Anything at all really, even dwarfs with wings workes better but a really cool conversion is the demon girls with claws :)

To give credit where credit is due, you made the shittiest of models in the GW range look like my mother in law. She's a beast but you put some rouge & lipstick on her and she's ready for a trip to Denny's…..the more I look at your model, the more I think I wouldn't mind being seen with her at the Spaghetti Factory on a Sunday, so you’ve one up’d her. Well done mate!

@Lord Aenarion - I had ones harpies made from 6ed daemonettes of slaanesh with wings from furies, but it was stolen on tournament :( After that I bough normal GW models and this was time for me to paint them.

Today I want to show my Assassin. I didn't have idea for him, but after I seen scarf with skull in local shop I thought he would look even more scary while he would look like charging death. I hope You like the idea, I must say after made this skull freehand it was fun to paint him. I know he have very big and nice for free hands cloak, but for me assassins are born killers, and he wouldn't have ornaments with may discredit him from hiding in shadow.

Another week begin, and with it another challenges, for better start I would like present You model I finished to celebrate last week pirate day 8)

It's no 1 Druchii corsair Lokhir. It will be champion for the unit, or (if the rumors are true) maybe corsair hero.

I looked past painted models of him, but I don't like his blades painted red NMM because it's called "red blades", I like thought it's name was took from all the blood it was covered, so I paint that way.
