witch elves

Post by Senluthan »

i find the witch elves really disgusting.. when i think about witch elves.. i think hot nearly naked women... not these perhaps its their hair.. and their pose i just find them ugly..

Therefor can these work? or do they fluff wise have too much armor?

And perhaps either of these as hags/ death hag

I find her pose very nice.. but think she has a lot armour.. for a death hag..

What you think fluff wise can they be used as WE?

You can use what you like. I use the current WE but remove the stockings with a modeling knife and a file. If you find the current hair annoying, snip all the stray bits off and greenstuff it into a wild mane.

Those are terrible IMHO. You might want to wait to see what the new Dark Eldar range brings. I belive they are releasing new plastic Wych squads.

The model on the second link looks decent, too much armour as you stated, but could do for a female master/DL. I totally agree that the WE hair is UGLY. They need plastic ones so I can chop and repose to my own vision of how they'd look and act :(

The only WE model I like is the one that holds only one weapon and the other hand is beckoning a foe over.

I cant see how you can find those models ''hotter'' than the witch elf model, imo those ones are just plain ugly. But i guess it could work, with a few modifications.

I like the current witch elf models, but the Dark Eldar wyches, the succubus and Lelith kick ass as well. One problem: only 5 out of the 10 wyches are female, the rest is male and you can't order specific ones. I' wouldn't be too bothered about the amount of armour though. Even if you would paint the armour in a metallic color, the moment you put them on the table, no one would ever think they are anything else but witch elves.
The new dark eldar are about to be released (as rumour has it) in november and one of the new plastic sets would be wyches. Do you have enough patience until then?
Another conversion I've already seen is the combination of daemonettes and corsair plastic sets. On the whole they're nice but they look like they've all had their noses cut off.

I agree that the current Medusa styled witch elf hair is appalling. However, do you really think that the wych models are any better? If it were me I'd just green stuff new hair.

Fluff wise, sure you can use them, they have just as much exposed skin.

As for Lelith, of course she is incredible as is.

Writing as someone who has made extensive use of both the standard Witch Elves and models from all three of the links you posted, I'll add the following:

1) I'm not sure exactly what you find attractive in women, but the Chris Fitzpatrick (standard GW Fantasy WE) are hot with two "t"s
2) The metal Wytch models can work well as dark elves, but they require a lot of patient work to remove the 40kish parts, such as funky armor and tubes going into various places on their bodies.
3) Same goes for Lilith Hesperax, but she needs a LOT of work, as she is HUGE for one and also has the biggest feet of any GW model ever (including the various Giants
:D )

Somebody posted a nice Lillith conversion on D.net recently. If someone can post a link, that would be good. If not, I'll find it. It was good.
That's silly! Playin with little statues, pretendin' they're fightin'! Why not just round up a bunch of real goblins and lettem' whack it out?
