I think it's probably out of print by now, you could try talking to Noble Knight Games, they come across a lot of older hard to find stuff. Or just go to the flea market at any wargames convention, you could probably pick it up reaonably.

Among other finished works, I've completed a unit of slingers for my vikings. Full write up on my blog.

Oh man, The First Spearman model of yours is awesome and brings so many memories... It brought me back to the days of when I was starting, having purchased 4th edition starter with a friend and getting all giddy at the amazing models we found there (as well as cardboard cut-outs of orc wyvern and elf griffon). People are spoiled this days with all the multi-part, dynamic pose models. What we had back then were archers and spearmen, all in exactly the same pose. We painted the minis using some Humbrol paints we used for our WWII models. Man, they looked so bad... I believe I should have some super old and badly painted models lying around in bits box somewhere so I could share the memories with you (I remember having at least 1 old metal black guard left over, CoK parts and some other minis too).

We should start a topic on that subject, actually. It would be great fun to one-up other people with terrible paintjobs for a change.

I've completed some Sarmatian horse archers this week, models by Warlord Games. There's more pictures on the blog as per usual:

The Viking slingers and archers are both for Saga and Hail Caesar (the latter is written by Rick Priestley!), the horse archers purely for Hail Caesar. Both are excellent game systems.

I always liked the coloring of the Vistula legion, different times and nationalities of that period provide so many choices.

A friend of mine is collecting a brigade of Poles, so I'm going to stay away from them... I might do some Red Lancers though.

Perry Miniatures, the same guys who did the entire LotR range for GW plus many classic sculpts. 13 mounted and 8 foot dragoons per box for 18£ so they're a total steal.

Alan and Michael Perry! Never knew they had their own company. Thx for the link! (I am quite tempted by the samurai range 8))

I also didnt know they did the entire LoTR range!!! That is quite an epic body of work....amazing that they have time to do stuff on the side as well!

Actually I would indeed advise you to just pick up a box of those Perry miniatures plastics if you get the chance. That's how I rolled into it, a friend was ordering some 40k stuff from Wayland Games and out of sheer interest I asked him to order along a box of French line infantry. Minimal risk involved as the box was just 20 euro for me and it carried 42 infantry. When you compare that price per figure with that of GW's plastics and consider the almost equal sculpting and casting quality, you can form an idea of the magnitude of GW's overhead costs.

The French Lancers have arrived, fresh from the painting table! See the whole thing on the blog. Not bad for a week's work, eh?

It's been a quiet week on my blog, and that's because I've been painting and drinking in equal measure! Here is the fruit of my labour: a unit of Sarmatian Light Cavalry. A small unit of speed-painted Bloodletters of Khorne will be up tomorrow as well.

Good to see more of your quality work! The Bloodletters surprised me(In that they broke away from the historic’s), they turned out really good. Are they a project piece or are you starting a daemon army?
