Looking great, especially the shade. Shadow Warrior is such a great kit. :)

Hey guys. Here are some pics of my wip cauldron of blood. The plan is to use green stuff to blend in the contact points of the structure and the spider and then to putty in the cracks and smooth out the bark to make it like rock with some texture. The idea is the spider is crawling over the mine entrance and there will also be two pillars used as unit fillers for the spiders legs to sit on in the unit.

Dude that's awesome! I decided I needed to raise mine and have it above the models since the new witch elves are taller. How do you rank yours up?

Very, very carefully.

The legs are narrow enough near the ends that I managed to rank the witch elves up in such a way that the legs go between the witches and rest on their bases. My cauldron is really rear heavy though which seems to be causing trouble sometimes... I may have to weight the front down somehow.

Wow, that will be one awesome caldron. At first I thought that while an great-looking combination, the spider with the cauldron stairs on its back will be even bigger than the spider itself, but your solution with the mine is simply brilliant, solving the size and putting it to even higher level of awesomeness. Maybe it would even be possible to arrange the legs on the mine structure so that they don't protrude that much?
Anyway, I really can't wait to see it finished, this is truly epic!

Rowena, that's the plan on the legs. However I do want at least one probably two legs outstretched over the unit. I want to then place the legs on the columns, but not permanently so it give the appearance of it crawling over the unit under it. My biggest fear was finding a way to do this without the spider looking like it was just hovering there with no semblance of support from the legs.

Clay is down. A little more smoothing and it'll be left alone to dry. Up next, spider legs and avatar statue!

If you can remove (or already did, can't see in the new photos) the support posts under the spider, the model will look even better.

I would also shave off the back end of the mine at an angle so it slopes downwards and can be explained as the entrance to the mine sticking out of the ground and leading beneath... The way it is right now it seems very, I don't know, out of place.

Aside from that. That is one massive LARGE target.

Surprisingly enough my Cauldron has a pretty low mortality rate. The enemy generally has at most two shots before the cauldron gets into combat.

And he has to contend with a dragon, pegmaster and a hydra all prime cannon targets.

Wow, that's one huge model! It looks completely awesome (even though maybe I would agree that it looks even better without the pillars, but I guess I would have to see it with a unit to fully judge that)
Just one thought: if your theme is drow from the Forgotten Realms setting, would it be possible to place their spider goddess on the Cauldron instead of Khaine? I think I have seen some models of her (or useable as her, anyway) around... that might make it even more awesome. :)

Wow! You won't believe it, but I'd decided to put a cauldron on the back of an Arachnarok too! Now I discover there are at least two other geniuses on the face of earth. I didn't think of the mine to lift it - Looking at all the legs and everything I understand why that's needed now.

Anyway - that is one hell of a model you've created. I'd love to get data on frequency of targeting from canons, per other people's notes. Does this kind of conversion draw more fire? I'd kind of think so, but would love some stats!

Can't wait to see it painted. Great job.
