Do you guys prefer the black or the white background?

Nagash, supreme bad mudda of the Warhammer Fantasy universe is back! And it looks like he's brough all hell with him. There are few moments as momentous as the return of Nagash and this model is a fitting end level boss character for the Fantasy universe. Thats why even though this isn't Dark Elf related, Nagash is the end of the Warhammer World, and only the strong will be left - so obviously the Druchii will be the only ones left.

Well, you're quick off the old blocks!

Wonderful lightsourcing. Much prefer the black background.

Dark background indeed.
And compliments for the perfect execution of the painting, as usual.
Thank you for the "For scale" pic, it tells a lot: one suitcase for Nagash, another one for the rest of the army.

Black background.
That's beautifully painted, better than the GW version if I may say so :)

Yep. As well as the great lightsourcing the armour and other metals are wonderful. Much better than the "official" version.

+1 for the charcoal background.

Lovely work - really like the glowing turquoise effect on the lower parts. Definitely better than the official version to my eye.

Quickly done indeed, and excellent work at that! I haven't even gotten mine off the sprue yet - and whenever I do paint mine if it looks a tenth as good as this I'll be ecstatic.

Dark background is much better imo.

I agree with everyone else that black background is better. And, wow, what a breathtaking model! I haven't really looked at the official version, but yours is simply stunning. And huge. :-o Do I understand correctly that the spirits around him are bigger than human-sized models and his book is almost as big as a human?

Just had a look at this on GW site , impressive model but it costs £65 !! I know you can pick them up for around the £50 mark but that still seems a hell of a lot of wedge to me .

He's half an army.

No, really. He's 1000 points. And with new "improved" 50% lords/heroes allowance you can field him as soon as you play 2000 points games.

Stunning. Really flawless paintwork here. Well done, Mr. Ch'ill.

As regards the price for Mr. Necro-clown, he's probably cheaper then most figures on a pounds per point basis :D
That's silly! Playin with little statues, pretendin' they're fightin'! Why not just round up a bunch of real goblins and lettem' whack it out?

Indeed - just looking at the maths, he looks a whole lot better value than 1000 pts spent on 500 Skaven slaves at £512.50!

I wonder what the cheapest £ spend on 1,000 pts is? Nagash must be close.

Two dragon Dreadlords are cheaper than Nagash and clocks in at a lot more points.

Not a lot really, Dreadlords will only clock at just over 1100 while two dragon sorceresses will get to about 1240.

Two dragon kits are also *just barely* more expensive than Nagash, but they make up for that with extra points.

Overall, I will happily field a Dragonlord and a Peg sorceress against Nagash. Peg Sorceress with my favorite setup of Cloak of Twilight, Obsidian Trinket and Dispel Scroll can stand toe to toe with the magic beast in the magic phase. With right selection of spells she's even more likely to kill him that he's to kill her. (yay for 2++ against spells)
