I'm trying NMM for this challenge and painting the dragon without drybrushing which is my normal style. I think I will never paint armour, swords etc not NMM anymore, what a difference with normal metal paint!

I converted my fleetmaster to have two legs and two swords.

I thought about that - but the absurdity of that peg leg on a sandy beach appealed to me :D

@Diobarach your a speed machine - that came together nicely.

I'm in - I'll be starting with the Executioner/BG champion (on account of having little time available to paint at present).

Pictures to follow.

EDIT: Here's the before picture. Apologies for the size, I'm a real noob at this stuff.

Image

And here is the almost-finished model (some details required). I've gone with an "implacable wall of steel" look for my Black Guard models - the rest of my army is fairly colourful, and I wanted these guys to appear as stone-cold professional killers. However, I might add some variety on the pauldrons and/or the leg-plates - there's a bit too much plain metal on this model for my liking.

I have finally decided which weapon I want to give the great weapon hero/executioner champion I have on my table half-converted. Great excuse to finally get some paint on him. :)

Great work Cult! Its very nice to see daily activity again on the forum. I think that especially with uncertainty for the future of our warhammer games, the modelling and painting of our armies can be more focused on in the meantime. Especially painting together as a Druchii community motivates to start or re-starts new projects or units, and keep working on it because feedback keeps you motivated.

Oh yeah, I'm going to join in on this. Should give me motivation to paint what otherwise would be left to the side:

Here is my sorceress. I painted her up in one sitting yesterday. I attempted NMM gold for the first time as well as using object source lighting for the first time in this army. I am happy with the OSL but Im not 100% on the NMM. For the OSL I wanted to use the palm as the source rather than go for the "look, my hand is blue!" effect. So given the curl of the finger I opted to highlight the fingertips rather than the whole hand. If anyone has any critiques or criticisms I'm all ears.

As for the paint scheme:
Skin
Kislev Flesh, Reikland Flesh Shade, Pallid Wych Flesh

Cloth
Regal Blue, Shadow Gray, Drakenoff Night Shade, Shadow Gray

Hair*
Abbadon Black, Eshin Gray, Drakenoff Night Shade
* This definitely reminded me why I can't get motivated to paint my Witch Elves and Hellebron models...

Gold
Abaddon Black, Snakebite Leather, Regal Blue (1:1:1)
Snake Bite Leather, Regal Blue (1:1)
Pure Snake Bite Leather
Snake Bite Leather, Bleached Bone (1:1)
Pure Bleached Bone
Pure Ceramite White

OSL effect:
Ice Blue, mixed and highlighted up to pure Ceramite White

I've tweaked all of these photos on photo bucket but for some reason the rear photo will save changes but not display them on here...

Nice job Haagrum!

With a view to continue this on into next month what would everyone be interested in painting?

We could keep the requirement low - perhaps a monster, or unit of 5 models or even another character - perhaps even a Regiment of renown could be fun.

A unit of 5 or 10 would be good. Actually you could go off wounds. So let's say 10 wounds would give you 10 men or 5 knights etc.

I'd love to say monster because I have a kharibdyss that keeps staring me down. Unfortunately I have to leave the country for business so I may not have time to get it done, but I'll certainly give it the old college try!

*After rethinking it, I think going by wound count would offer a lot more flexibility for everyone.

The wounds idea might work nicely.
5-10 wounds covers both small units and monsters.

I'll do my Khorne Lord from the AoS starter box. I took a picture but haven't uploaded it yet. Not sure I'll be able to finish him in time, but I kind of need a little a pressure to get back into the swing of things ;)

Yes I really like that model - it has plenty of character.

I like the wounds idea as well - 5-10 wounds would be a good option as it keeps it fairly open for everyone.
