I need to discuss something. I was originally thinking that Searinox's date will be over faster and that other players will get some amusement at least from Gilvaad's arrival. It doesn't work that way, obviously, so we have several options:

- first, if Amboadine has more time now, we can resume my original plan - Amboadine, do you think this is likely?
- second, I can throw in some other form of entertainment for the guys on the ship. I have to admit, though, that I do not have a good idea here. So, Thraundil, Calisson, is there a scene you would like at any time between boarding the ship again and planning the prison break?
- third, we can start planning the prison break right now. I do not really like it because I would like to wrap everything from the prologue up before moving further but it is surely a possibility.
- or last, we can just wait and enjoy our holiday.

What do you think?

I think I should be able to get a post up by the end of the week. If anything it will give me a break from staring at endless data streams for awhile.

As a general principle, I encourage team action and only team action. Single role players should have dedicated modposts only in case of absolute necessity, as it becomes quickly too demanding for the mod and too boring for the other players. But that's principles.

This said, for the specific case, I had my share of nearly monopolizing the thread. Other roleplayers deserve having some fun on their own, I'm glad they do. There is no pressing need to imply Caraoc.

Now, if reading "the book" has chances to trigger some weird event which would offer interaction with the other idle players, and if our beloved mod has time to spare, why not?
If so, let me know and I will post a quick book reading start.

Wow, so many new posts!
Do you want to to be given some time to finish your current plans (the dialogue between Gilvaad and Ladry might be somewhat interesting, otherwise, I know nothing about your intentions :) ), or would you prefer the story to move immediatelly, which would mean you would resolve those smaller actions simultaneously with the bigger story?

The Gilvaad / Ladry dialogue can be resolved on the move I think.

Mod post up. Welcome to the first chapter. :)
The story-shifting part of the text is the one about the prison break but feel free to write other scenes as well. :)

More than two weeks since the last post. I was hoping transition to a new chapter with a new, more classical quest and no more spotlight stealing NPCs will sparkle some interest again but it seems it did not work. So the question is, what do we do about this? Is there a way I can renew your motivation? Or are you too busy with other activities and do not want to invest in this group anymore?

I have some tight schedule for the coming months myself so I would not mind scratching this group altogether. It has to end some day after all... But I think I can keep the group going, if there is interest, if only in a slow tempo, and I do not want anyone to be sour about how this evolves.

I've been busy with RL indeed. Sorry for forgetting about Gr42 (how could I?).

The intention is for Caraoc to investigate further. As a pilot, he feels compelled to find a path to the Margrave.
Will post within 24h in that direction.

Well, it is partly caused by Amboadine getting stuck on an airport. :) No one can really be blamed for *this*. :)

I have been worrying for the health of our group for some time. Not sure what I can do about this, though. I am thinking I could in theory write some intermezzo introducing some new interesting subplot but the problem is it would take quite some time before this plot could reach you. And within this timespan basically anything could happen with this group. I do not want to promise anything that might not get in the story in the end.

Well what self respecting Druchii could leave a city without a little looting and pillaging :)
Seriously though I will get a post up by Wednesday.

Re: Group 42 OOC

Seems so.
I am willing to go on if there is interest (at an agonizingly slow pace but still) but am not sure it is worth it with two players. And to be honest, I have enough on my hands these days so I am not exactly motivated to put up a fight so that the group can go on and provide some more work for me. :D

I can think of the following solutions:

1) Declare the group officially closed.
2) Kick the players who do not comply to some kind of a deadline. Seems somewhat unfair though. Besides, participating should not be stressful for anyone.
3) Postpone anything drastic till September. Anything can happen during summer. There are reasons to think I will have no time to mod anyway. Of course, if nothing happens here for several months the interest will only fade, mine as well as yours.
4) Recruit more players with the risk that if everyone starts to participate again, we will have some six people posting which is quite a lot. I should be able to write for the characters whose players are not active. I was doing it all the time anyway with Paithan and Dolan. If there is something to read, interest might return. On the other hand, if the story moves too much it might turn someone off. Too much catching up. And I might portray a character in a wrong way.
5) Do 4) without the recruitment. After wall, getting new characters on the ship is not easy. (I think I might have an idea though.)
6) Do an intermezzo from the past for the players that are still here, possibly related to the current plot in some way. Carries the risk that a new/old player will want to start posting in the middle of such an intermezzo.

I have to say I am guilty on the posting front.
This is down to a multitude of reasons; mostly real life concerns taking up more time than previously, this has impacted my online presence substantially and I am not able to frequent the boards as often as was previously the case.
Second major factor is my wandering interest in the game at the moment whilst we are in limbo awaiting the 'Age of Sigmar' release. I haven't actually had a game now for a few months.
This should change in the next few weeks as the excitement builds, and should hopefully coincide with a decline in my workload in August and September as I close out projects.

I would however definitely like to continue, and from the options above maybe some new blood might re energize the interest and move the story forward.

Keep in mind though that having some new players join is the most difficult option. It is something we cannot do alone. :) The interest in this kind of RPG has been scarce in the last years.

Zero post = dead group.
Either we keep posting somehow, at a pace adapted to survivor's possibilities, or we call it an end.
If we keep posting, that will be with the few who are left. I'm happy to have newcomers, it is just that I don't see them coming.

I probably prefer the option where I take over the characters of Amboadine and Thraundil for a time. I am just worried that if we produce too many posts catching up will be a pain. Which is something our slow pace could be good for. :)
