The Set Daily Puzzle!

Here's a nifty little puzzle site that baranthazul provided over on TGUO and which I thought I'd share, since it seems D.netters love a good puzzle. The best part about it is, there's a new one every day (and since I haven't figured out the mathematical solution to figuring out the answers yet, it's still a challenge :roll:

). Today's, I might add, was really difficult... it took me about twice as long as yesterdays...

Thats good fun man...still working on todays one (half way there...been looknig at it a few mins now)

Trickier than it looks at a first glance.

Ya, its a great game. Haven't done todays yet, but last night, I got it in 1 min 2 secs, my best. The best I've heard of is 27 seconds. Simply amazing.

But yes, I do credit you with the find. I think I'm getting worse at it as I go along; yesterday I got 5 and just couldn't find the 6th and with todays I was in a bit of a rush but still only managed to find 4 of them. There must be some kind of formula, but I just can't wrap my head around it.

When I can't find one, I got through each one say: "If this one is in a set, and the one next to it is in a set, what is needed for it to make a set?"
So if there are 3 full diamonds, next to 2 half full squiggleys, then there has to be a hollow oval to make a set. It works, I swear

Finally got around to doing todays one. Got 5 in about 50 seconds. It took me till 4:32 to get all 6. That was hard.

Indeed, today was a very difficult puzzle to solve. It took me 4 minutes, 29 seconds on my second try, since my first only resulted in 4 sets after some ungodly amount of time spent on it. I ended up applying your trial and error method, which worked beautifully (though it took a bit of time). I also found a small bit of information which I have yet to fully prove- every puzzle has 1 primary color scheme and 2 secondary colors. At least 2 of the sets will have only that color in them, while 2 others will have 1 of each color and the remaining 2 are up for grabs depending on which puzzle it is. I know it's not much, but it's a bit of a general guideline to help figure out which sets still need finding.

Oh and btw, my little theorem was completely wrong, as proven by today's puzzle. This thing just keeps getting harder and harder (and yet, I can't keep myself away!).
