Power of Darkness and Power of ETC

Last time I checked, the number of additional power dice that can be generated each turn is 2 under ETC conditions.

Power of Darkness generates D3 power dice.

If Power of Darkness generates 3 power dice, the caster suffers one wound. The wound is connected to the number of pd generated, not to the dice roll.

Does the wounding ever come into play under ETC conditions? Since there will never be an instance were 3 pd is generated, regardless of the dice roll.

Just checking.

I asked our local tournament organiser this before, and most probably he is going to rule that you suffer the damage for rolling 5 or 6 even though you won't be able to use all the dice.

Sadly it's the logical way of solving it, the ETC max 2 dice limitations specify that you discard any extra dice, so you would still generate them as normal, suffer the damage, and then be forced to discard a die.

In other words ETC sucks. Not only it will penalize your signature freakin spell, it will also make you hurt yourself for no benefit.

Aside from the continued major nerfing of magic, the comp seems to have lightened up a lot in the draft 2014 rule pack.

European Team Championships. It's a tournament format and has restrictions on builds and rules.

Sometimes used at singles tournaments which is totally senseless considering its designed for a team tournament.

Not that their ruleset makes any sense at all, it like playing a different game.

Has anyone noticed that this go around there is a bit of a ruckus with the ETC folks? I was poking around the site seeing what changes they had done for 2014 and seems a few people are upset about this that and the other. Also ETC has done what I personally think is the dumbest thing to date, Beastmen get not only an extra 200points but 2 free giants. Hopefully by the time this post that has been changed but really? Free giants!!! Who cares if they suck, run em forward and go lock up something or force shots at them. THEY ARE FREE!!
