Oh that caused some confusion I guess. By no means I wanted to complain! I absolutly love the sorceress!

She doesn't fit in the way that everyone can easily tell I did not paint her !lol!

Alright slackers! I haven't seen pictures of people's stuff. I really want to see Rowena's finished turn counter, for starters! I don't even know who got that - it's like they received their gift and disappeared!

Please put up pics before this whole thing gets forgotten. :)

Me too! I am really worried it got lost in the post, it should have arrived some time ago! I am told the person I was painting for has not logged on for some time, whatever that may mean, but that doesn't really calm me.
And yes, I would love to see all the missing pictures.

Hi Rowena - I would love to see the counter as well. Can you post a picture of it anyway?

If the organisers say it's ok, I can... but I would really love to know it arrived safely. Also, I'm afraid that it would be far too obvious from the picture who the recipient is supposed to be.
So, Cultofkhaine, shoud I do it anyway?

Have at it man, everybody had AMPLE opportunity to do it themselves, if they didn't want anything spoiled.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to RE-thank my SS, Payce, for the cool witch elves and Christmas card. I will totally remember to include a card next year. :)

I'd love to see it! :)

A post with all the images of the completed models, the creator, and the giftee, would be really nice.

All right, especially as the list is going to be released anyway. But I'm sad to have to do it this way. :(

My giftee was the amazing Dyvin Tvar, so you can probably imagine how I felt coming up with something good. The turncounter was my answer to the question "What do you give to the man who has everything?" and I also liked the idea of trying to make it resemble mayan calenders and similar stuff. (I didn't find enough pictures of his dark elves to attempt to match those, so I chose to match his lizardmen army)

And this is what I came up with (An unconverted GW model from me?! ):

Image

Image

The skink priest is standing on a little golden arrow that's supposed to point at the number. (Plus, he needed to stand on something after I decided not to include the stairs from the original model)
And top view with the numbers themselves:

Image

I found these when googling for some way to depict numbers when arabic and roman numerals would seem completely out of place. I don't know how authentic they are, probably not at all, but at least it seemed clear enough. The little symbols are something we invented with Marchosias, just to make the wheel less empty.
They're meant to be:
round 1 - movement (footprints)
round 2 - magic (a fireball or a comet)
round 3 - shooting (a bow - yes I know lizardmen don't use these, but try to paint a blowpipe that looks like one!)
round 4 - fighting (a spear and a shield)
round 5 - victory (broken sword of the enemy)
round 6 - celebration (sun shining on a pyramid)
And yes, I know that the numbers are written from the point of view of the skink and the pictures from the point of view of someone outside the circle, I was in a hurry to finish it and didn't want to repaint. I'm glad enough I got to paint them at all.

Now... I still really hope it reaches Dyvim safely. :(

I love that turn counter! Brilliant idea, beautifully made and painted. Awesome model too, almost tempts me to do a lizard army, except perhaps waiting until the 9th edition is out :)

I just had a thought... how about a seperate thread, something like Secret Santa gallery, where all the secret santa pictures are re-posted with with a short description but no replys to clutter it up.

That is cool. You really captured the Mayan feel very well, it was the first thing I thought when I saw the base.

Since the recipient of my manticore never posted pics, I will put mine here, so it can replace what you have on the front page for it, which is the primed white version.

If Heartsbane wants to put his own pics up at some point in the future, that'd be fine, if you want to switch them out or whatever. But at least this way a finished product will be on the front "display" post.

Ah, yes. Ooops. I was holding out on pics until after I'd based him to match my army.

Then I got sidetracked painting up a bloodbowl team for a tourney, and haven't based him yet. Please don't take that as a reflection of how much I like him though, he really is a great figure and I can't wait to get a rider and base on him so I can get him on the table alongside the rest of my army!
