[PLOG] Dyvim Tvar's Lizardman Army -- Carnosaur Done
I am embarking on the task of painting a Lizardman army with the goal of having it done by the time of the Quake City Rumble Indy GT tournament in June of this year. To keep me motivated and on track, I'm going to try to blog the progress here. My camera doesn't take great pics, but here's one of my Carnosaur in progress. Still need to do the metal bits and figure out how to base him, but I'm very happy with how it looks so far:

Looking rather good DT. I don't know that much about reptiles but evne though it looks good the yellow might be a bit shocking if there isn't anything else to help blend it in.
Regardless however it does look good. The skin tone itself is well done though it might be worth giving a little bit more shade to the thighs.

Ok -- I took a couple pictures of the Carnosaur on its base. Except for the the lizard on the base, which is a bit hard to see here, the base is sculpted out of Sculpy and green stuff.
I don't have a rider yet since it is still in the assembly stage. I ordered a set of the special "OldBlood Shields" from GW and am waiting for them to arrive before I chop off and resculpt Kroq Gar's left hand. The weapon in the right hand is getting switched out, and I am thinking of using a Temple Guard head as well.
Anyway, here are the pics:

I actually have some of the older metal Lizardman cold-one riders -- the ones that came with the "Battle Caw" style of cold ones. I have seen other conversions successfully combining the metal riders with the new Dark Elf cols ones, and I plan to do the same. I have no idea if the current plastic Lizardmen cold-one riders can be easily combined with the Darl Elf mounts.

*ideas* I misread some posts, I've clarifyed what was actually said... but my initial misunderstanding gave me an idea... Dark Elves that were lost in Lustria... Probably done before, but you know.
Back to the topic at hand, the base really adds to the model, its posture is much better; looks more alert and less like the beast is about to fall asleep. Should help it when you get into base-to-base with tall opponents too!

This carnosaur looks ace!
I always liked the model and your choice of colours fits it perfectly. The base is also cool, gives the beast a good support, it's a cool idea to use colours that match with the figure itself. I'm looking forward to see how you'll paint the rider!

I got my "Oldblood Shields" from GW the other day, and so I was able to complete my Oldblood on the Carnosaur. Pics of the final product are below.
I sculpted the weapon and I also re-sculpted the left hand so it could hold a shield. The head is from the Temple Guard sprue, and the icon is also made with bits from the Temple Guard sprue.

I suppose you call the big one Bitey? That's a mighty base. I expect it goes 'clunk'. I could wish for such free time. Well done.
